The process of endorsement entails the high-level professional assessment of a proposed engineering programme to determine whether it has the potential, in the fullness of time, to become an ECSA accredited qualification, and is not part of ECSA’s formal process of accreditation.
Education Evaluation is a process to assess foreign/non accredited qualifications and establish to which ECSA registration category the qualification is applicable.
The process also determines if the qualification can be recognized by ECSA in terms of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) international engineering education accords.
The Certification of a Training Academy is directly associated with substantiated proof of the ability of a public or private entity to offer high quality structured engineering Candidacy Mentoring and Training programmes, workplace learning, and fit-for-purpose engineering experience which will train and prepare Candidate Engineers along their journey towards Professional Registration.
ECSA has initiated a process to certify workplace engineering training academies and accredit their Candidacy training and mentoring programmes to enable candidates and prospective candidates to undergo a structured ECSA-approved candidacy training and mentoring programme that leads to professional registration.
An accreditation is a formal recognition awarded to an Engineering Programme offered by a registered HEI through a rigorous cyclical quality assurance process that ensures it meets the criteria laid down for the type of programme.
